The Painted Gourd
This is the first of a series of Butterfly Fairies that I.ve sketched out to paint on gourds.
This gourd measures approximately 9-1/2" tall and 4-1/2" wide.
It hangs by a length of clear monofilament.
The gourd has been finished with acrylic gloss varnish for indoor use.
If you plan to hang any of my gourds outdoors, you should first seal them with a varnish specifically formulated for outdoor use.
These dragons hatchlings are made from larger banana gourds and stand 8 or 9 inches tall. Their limbs and head were sculpted out of clay: their wings were formed out of wire and Fantasy Film. When I display these at a fair, I have the nestlings holding miniature baskets or books I've folded from paper.
This birdhouse measures approximately 16" tall (not including stem), 5" wide, and 8" deep measuring the tail at the back.
The gourd can either hang from its length of clear monofilament, or sit directly on a flat surface.
The baby dragon's body is a dipper gourd. His added features were made with clay, wire, and Fantasy Film.
The gourd has been finished with acrylic gloss varnish and is recommended for indoor display only.
These gourds measure approximately 5" to 6" tall.
The dragon bodies are made of banana gourds. The added features were made with clay, wire and Fantasy Film.
